This week the instructor introduced an analytic technique called chromatography which is commonly used for separating a mixture of chemical substances into their components.

 To start the process, the mixture was dissolved in a substance called the mobile phase before passing through a second substance called the stationary phase. The notion behind this is different components of the mixture travel through the stationary phase at different speeds that cause them to separate from one another. 

The nature of the specific mobile and stationary phases determines which substances travel more quickly or slowly. 

I chose oolong tea and grape skins. Upon mashing, drip them onto special paper. Allow them to stand for some time to observe the degree of diffusion of different substances.
