VIS believes that technology can not just aid but accelerate student learning. To that end, appropriate technology use is woven through the VIS experience. Teachers guide students on how to interact with technology to not just consume but to create.
Whether it's mixing on turntables in a Music Production class, 3D printing assistive technology in the VIS Makerspace, or using a GIS to map the effects of air pollution around Taipei in a Geography class, students at VIS use technology to understand the world around them and create meaningful, authentic projects as a part of their schoolwork.
Courses at VIS use the Google Workspace for Education Suite to provide students with a clear, integrated workflow across all of their classes. Other educational technology products used at VIS include GitHub, Unity, Zotero, CodeHS, Canva, UCAS, GeoGebra, as well as databases like JSTOR & PubMed.
VIS is a 1-to-1 institution. Students use their personal devices for each class, in an appropriate manner guided by the teacher. Students' guardians will be asked to review and sign a general consent form for different technologies used in VIS classrooms; this practice complies with national and international student data protection laws & norms.
