Outline

“Who Are We” is a PBL course investigating posed essential questions through the lens of a cross-section of disciplines - History, Civics, and Engineering. We will be reflecting on what formulates our identity by pinpointing the elements that make up our individuality. Students will learn about historical happenings through engaging learning methods in an effort to gain an understanding of human nature, our successes, and our mistakes throughout time.

 

Project Goals

History

• Understand types of sources (1st vs 2nd hand)

• Citing sources

• Making connections in history to other countries, cultures, past to future

Civics

• Identifying our personal values, beliefs, and how they came to be

• Understanding our rights and duties as citizens (local/global), and our role in it

• Learning ways to integrate our values and goals into how we contribute to and participate in the world around us (locally, globally)

• Researching a variety of methods of activism, and how to implement them 

• Engaging in real-world activism through organized projects and happenings
