周日上午（3/20），VIS 國際實驗教育有幸接待來自 #奧地利 #維也納 的 HAK St. Pölten 學校師生們一同參與我們 Discover Taipei 課程。來自兩國的學生初次見面，透過破冰活動開啟對話之門，彼此介紹自我，分享對彼此文化的認識，跨文化交流的序幕由此展開。

VIS 特別贈送《Discover Taipei》書籍，作為我們對奧地利師生的誠摯歡迎；奧地利學生也熱情回贈在地特色零食，兩地風土與心意在此交會，織就一場溫馨而深刻的文化交流。隨後，參與此課程的 VIS 學生簡要介紹接下來的行程安排，並於帶領奧地利夥伴走訪 #中正紀念堂，從建築地景出發，細述臺灣歷經政權更替、民主化與轉型正義的歷史進程，呈現出一座城市如何在歷史與現代之間，找尋屬於自己的敘事與身份。臺奧兩地雖相隔萬里，卻皆承載著複雜而雷同的歷史記憶。

活動尾聲，我們與 HAK St. Pölten 師生一同享用臺灣在地美食，讓這場跨文化相遇不僅止於知識的交換，更延伸為味蕾與情感的連結。

感謝 HAK St. Pölten 師生不遠千里來訪，也期盼未來能在教育的旅途中再次相遇，續寫跨國交流的新篇章。

Austrian Students Visit VIS: A Cross-Cultural Chapter in the Discover Taipei Journey

On the morning of March 20, VIS had the honor of welcoming teachers and students from HAK St. Pölten in Vienna, Austria, for a special session of our Discover Taipei program.

As students from both countries met for the first time, they began the day with fun icebreaker activities—introducing themselves and exchanging cultural insights, setting the tone for an engaging and meaningful day of intercultural exchange.

To extend a warm welcome, VIS gifted each Austrian guest a copy of Discover Taipei, our bilingual student-written publication. In return, the Austrian students shared locally made snacks, creating a heartwarming moment of mutual appreciation and cultural connection.

Our VIS students then gave a brief overview of the day's itinerary and led their Austrian peers on a walking tour of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Through the lens of architecture and public space, they unpacked Taiwan’s historical shifts—political transitions, democratization, and transitional justice—highlighting how cities like Taipei carve out identity and narrative in the space between past and present. Though Taiwan and Austria are oceans apart, both places carry complex, sometimes parallel, historical memories.

A heartfelt thank you to the students and teachers of HAK St. Pölten for traveling all this way to connect with us. We look forward to continuing this global dialogue and hope to reunite on another educational journey in the future.
