VIS Field Trip to Yingge

Last Friday, the entire VIS community, both students and teachers alike, went to Yingge (鶯歌) for our semester's field trip! We divided into two groups: one began with ceramic making, while the other explored the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum In the afternoon, we swapped to experience both sides of Yingge's pottery culture.

The highlight for many was certainly the pottery workshop. For a lot of students, it was their very first time using a potter's wheel! Under the guidance of the workshop instructors, students created beautiful bowls and cups, while some even challenged themselves with vases.

At the museum, students explored exhibitions on Taiwan's ceramic heritage and completed worksheets that deepened their understanding of how indigenous culture and history are shaped through pottery.

A big thank-you to all the teachers and staff who made this trip possible!

A portion of the photo credits goes to our G10 Owen Huang ~ thank you for capturing these moments so beautifully!
