Dear Parents and Students,
We invite you to attend the VIS Honors Program and Honors Proseminar Information Session, led by Professor Jui-Chung Allen Li, a former member of the standing faculty at New York University Abu Dhabi.
The Honors Program is open to students in Grades 9 through 12 enrolled at VIS Experimental Education Institution. It seeks to cultivate academic rigor, global preparedness, and problem-solving skills. The Honors core courses are reading-intensive, writing-intensive, and discussion-based. They also require frequent oral presentations to foster the development of critical thinking and research skills. The courses cover a diverse, interdisciplinary spectrum of knowledge. Students learn not only from their professors but also from one another.
The Honors Proseminar is designed for students who aspire to join the Honors Program and wish to build a strong foundation before applying. Current participants consist mainly, but not exclusively, of students in the VIS Middle School Section. The Honors Proseminar is also suitable for gifted younger students seeking accelerated grade progression. At least one exceptional non-VIS student (Grade 10 from a top-ranked local high school) who aspires to attend the same leading U.S. colleges and universities for which the VIS Honors Program prepares its students has expressed interest in participating. Students who have previously applied to the Honors Program may take the Honors Proseminar as an opportunity to continue their preparation and strengthen their academic readiness.
The Honors Proseminar follows a format similar to that of the Honors Program, with weekly assigned readings, written reflections, and discussion-based classes. Classes meet one afternoon per week for two hours.
Current and prospective VIS students and non-VIS students (roughly those in Grades 6 through 10) committed to pursuing excellence, ingenuity, and integrity are all welcome to attend the information session. Join us to learn how the VIS Honors Program and Honors Proseminar can help you challenge yourself, push beyond your boundaries, and develop the inner strength needed to become a future leader.

VIS 誠摯邀請您出席 VIS Honors Program 暨 Honors Proseminar 課程說明會，此次說明會將由Dean of the Honors Program, 前紐約大學阿布達比分校李瑞中教授主持。
Honors Program 招收就讀 VIS實驗教育高中部九年級至十二年級的學生，旨在培養學生治學嚴謹、具備全球視野與解決問題的能力。Honors 核心課程大量閱讀、密集寫作，並以課堂討論的方式進行，要求同學口頭報告，以培養批判性思考與研究能力。課程內容多元且跨學科，同學不僅從教授身上汲取知識，亦彼此切磋共同成長。
Honors Proseminar 除了為有意申請 Honors Program、希望先打好基礎的 VIS 國中部同學設計，也適合想要挑戰自己、提前接觸進階課程的特殊資優的國中（甚至國小）學生。目前亦有應屆考上第一志願高中的同學報名，因為他的申請目標同為 VIS Honors Program 學生所鎖定的美國頂尖大學。此外，曾申請過 Honors Program 但未能錄取的學生，也可以透過 Honors Proseminar 持續累積實力，以便捲土重來。
Honors Proseminar 的課程形式與 Honors Program 類似，包含每週指定閱讀、每週寫「覺察」日記，以及課堂討論，每週上課一次兩小時（預定為週間下午，將調查有意願報名的學生後決定具體哪一天上課）。
無論是 VIS 現有學生、有意就讀 VIS 的學生，或是非 VIS 學生（大致為六年級至十年級），只要立志追求卓越、創新與誠信，皆歡迎報名參加本次說明會。歡迎您加入我們，了解 VIS Honors Program 與 Honors Proseminar 如何幫助您挑戰自我、突破極限，培養成為未來領導人才所需的內在特質。
