Last Thursday, our G9B students visited the National Human Rights Museum / Jing-Mei White Terror Memorial Park (國家人權博物館白色恐怖景美紀念園區), together with their PBL teachers, Mr. Marchant and Mr. Openshaw. This trip, which is connected to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), gave students a powerful glimpse into Taiwan's dark but important history of authoritarianism and systemic violence. Mr. Chen, our museum guide, led students through the historical complex, and he explained how the system stripped political dissidents of their basic rights, and how people resisted against injustice during White Terror.
As part of their PBL project, students are now challenged to explore the driving question: How can we foster understanding of Taiwanese social advocacy through interactive digital experiences?
By the end of the semester, students will present their ideas at the PBL Exhibition. They make projects that brings Taiwan's history and human rights struggles to life.
