昨天，VIS 於 臺北市政府青年局 舉行 115 學年度第一期開學典禮。本次典禮由 G11 Tony Wang 與 G12 Wendy Lo 擔任主持人，並由 Chancellor Richard Huang、計畫主持人林教授，以及計畫協同主持人曹教授開場致詞，分別向新舊生送上期許與鼓勵，勉勵大家在新學期裡勤奮學習、勇於探索，也別忘了享受學習的樂趣。
接著，計畫協同主持人丁教授介紹了 iGEM Club。今年 11 月，他們將代表 VIS 參加於巴黎舉行的 iGEM Jamboree，學生們也將迎來站上國際舞台、與世界各地團隊交流切磋的難得機會。期待他們在國際競賽中展現 VIS 學生的創意與實力！
隨後，Mr. Thomassen 與 Mr. Clarke 介紹今年的教師陣容，並揭開本年度 PBL Exhibition 的 Driving Question。Mr. Clarke 也以自身經驗說明 Project-Based Learning（PBL）的重要性，帶領學生思考如何從現實世界中的問題出發，將學習化為實際行動。
緊接著，#學生會 公布新學年度的成員名單，並分享接下來一學期規劃的活動與計畫。特別感謝學生會在整個暑假期間持續投入、積極籌畫，尤其是在新任會長 G11 Owen Huang 的帶領下，為全體 VIS 社群展開多項規劃與準備。
典禮最後，大家一起參與趣味十足的 Gimkit 遊戲，在輕鬆歡樂的氣氛中認識老師們，也為新學期揭開熱鬧又充滿活力的序幕！
最後，衷心感謝所有投入開學典禮籌備工作的老師、行政團隊與學生。因為每一位夥伴的用心準備與通力合作，才能讓這場典禮順利圓滿，也讓 VIS 的新學期有一個精彩的開始。

A new semester, a new beginning! Today, VIS held its 2026 Fall Semester with our Opening Ceremony at the Taipei City Department for Youth. The ceremony was hosted by G11 Tony Wang and G12 Wendy Lo, and began with welcoming addresses from Chancellor Huang, Principal Investigator Professor Lin, and Co-Principal Investigator Professor Tsaur. Each shared words of encouragement with students, reminding everyone to study hard and enjoy learning as we begin another semester together.
Next, Co-Principal Investigator Professor Ting introduced the iGEM Club, which will represent VIS at the iGEM Jamboree in Paris this November. We look forward to seeing what our students accomplish on the international stage! 
The spotlight then turned to this year's tean. Mr. Thomassen and Mr. Clarke introduced our teachers and unveiled the Driving Question for the upcoming PBL Exhibition, giving students a first glimpse into the possibilities that await them this semester. Mr. Clarke also shared his own experience and briefly highlighted the importance of Project-Based Learning (PBL).
The Student Council then introduced its members for the new academic year and shared its plans and activities for the VIS community. A big thank-you goes to the Student Council for their dedication throughout the summer, especially under the leadership of our new president, G11 Owen Huang, who has been actively involved in planning for the entire VIS community. 
To wrap up the ceremony, everyone joined a fun Gimkit game, giving them a chance to get to know our teachers a little better!
