Mindful Communication: Between Parents and Children, led by Professor Janet Yeh-Chen Kuo

The lecture “Mindful Communication: Between Parents and Children,” led by Professor Janet Yeh-Chen Kuo from the National Taipei University of Education, began with a heartfelt musical performance by our junior high school students.

Through relatable, everyday stories, Professor Kuo shared three essential principles for meaningful parent-child communication: practicing non-judgment, staying present, and cultivating self-awareness. She also highlighted the importance of self-care—eating well, sleeping well, and maintaining emotional balance—as the foundation for speaking with kindness and empathy. When we care for our own well-being, love and understanding can flow more naturally.

At VIS, we are committed not only to the growth and learning of our students, but also to the well-being of their families. When parents are calm and centered, children are empowered to thrive.
