Last week (May 24), VIS successfully concluded this semester's PBL Exhibition at Huashan 1914 Creative Park. Let's take a closer look at the projects presented by G6B and G7B!
In this PBL showcase, students used LEGO as a medium to design their own visions of an "ideal community," integrating the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal #11: "Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable." Their projects reflected thoughtful insights and creative thinking on what makes a thriving community.
Some of the community models were compact yet beautifully designed, embodying the idea of minimalism. Despite their size, these models thoughtfully incorporated key elements of sustainable urban development, such as parks, green spaces, and public transportation, effectively conveying the core values of urban planning.
Beyond the models, students also delivered presentations and reports discussing the importance of communities, their functions and benefits, various community types, and the essential components for building a well-functioning community. Their observations and ideas were truly refreshing and inspiring!
