上週 VIS 國中部 Mr. Brand 與 Ms. Blackwood 的 PBL 課特別邀請臺北市消防局金華分隊的 Kevin 隊員，為八年級學生進行火災避難與自救知識講座。

課程中，Kevin 向學生們解析了多個常見的火災避難迷思，包括錯誤的逃生觀念與不正確的滅火方式，並逐一釐清觀念。同學們也積極發問，展現出高度參與。

隨後，學生們實際學習了滅火器的正確使用方法，並進一步認識各式逃生裝置，獲得了寶貴的安全知識與實用技能。

此外，課程亦涵蓋現代生活中不可忽視的議題，即電動車與電池安全。隨著科技發展，相關風險與防範知識也成為學生必備的生活素養之一。
這些知識不僅將運用於他們的 PBL project 中，也與你我生活習習相關。我們相信，學習應連結真實世界，讓學生具備面對各種情境的應變能力。

Last week during Mr. Brand and Ms. Blackwood's PBL class, VIS JH invited Kevin, a firefighter from the Jinhua Station of the Taipei City Fire Department, to deliver a lecture on fire evacuation and self-rescue for Grade 8 students.

During the session, Kevin addressed several common misconceptions about fire safety, including mistaken escape strategies and incorrect firefighting methods, offering clear explanations to correct these misunderstandings. The students actively engaged by asking questions, demonstrating a high level of participation.

Following the lecture, students learned the proper use of fire extinguishers and about various escape devices, and they surely gained valuable safety knowledge and practical skills. In addition, the course also addresses an increasingly important topic in modern life: electric vehicles and battery safety. As technology continues to advance, understanding the associated risks and safety measures has become an essential life skill for students.

This knowledge will not only be applied in their PBL projects, but is also closely connected to everyday life. We believe that learning should be grounded in the real world, equipping students with the ability to respond effectively to a wide range of situations.
