The ability to set personal goals, plan schedules, keep on track with work, reflect and adjust, and keep working through to the end is one of the most important and useful skills in life, no matter academically, professionally, or personally.
VIS Junior High's self learning task was a multi-week long process in this sort of practice. Students chose their topic, discussed with teachers their plans, finalized the schedule, executed their plans, documented the process, made adjustments, and worked some more.
Yesterday was the culmination of many weeks of hard work. The students presented the results of their self learning, discussed impetus of topic choose, challenges faced, and new feelings gained. Additionally, the students answered questions and received feedback from their peers. Most importantly, the students gained another valuable learning and growth experience and were able to share their interests.

Good job students! The teachers are proud of the work that you've produced and we know that you will be even better next time!!
