VIS high school students visited the Resilient Island exhibition at the Chi Po-lin Museum. Below is a beautiful write-up from G10’s Amber Hsiao:
“The ‘Resilient Island’ exhibition at the Chi Po-lin Museum left a profound impression on me. The photographs on display not only capture the natural beauty of various parts of Taiwan but also unveil the secrets of ‘island restoration techniques.’ The exhibition primarily focuses on post-disaster scenes, and behind those breathtaking images lies evidence of nature’s destruction. Among the exhibits are the cameras and shooting equipment used by Mr. Chi Po-lin, as well as two rotor blades, silently telling the story of his dedication to documenting nature. By comparing photos taken before and after disasters, the exhibition highlights nature’s remarkable self-healing ability alongside the scars caused by human activities. This exhibition profoundly reminded me of the importance of understanding nature and inspired a strong sense of responsibility to protect this land. I hope more people will take notice of and work to safeguard our home.”
