Ipung Chen Secures Third Place in National Boxing Championship 

 

VIS high school student, Grade 11 Ipung Chen, proudly took third place in the 113th National Presidential Cup Boxing Championship in the High School Boys’ 63.5kg category! 

 

Below is a heartfelt write-up from Ipung Chen:

 

“I took third place in the National Boxing Championship. Honestly, I didn’t expect to get any good results before the competition, and I wasn’t hoping for anything. My goal was just to enjoy the match and release some stress. Before the competition, I had to lose 3 kg for my weight class, and with all the schoolwork, I couldn’t rest properly. Only when I got to the venue could I focus on training with the team and put my schoolwork aside.

 

In the first game, I won because my opponent had a nosebleed. I was happy for a moment, but then I found out my next opponent was an older senior, and I knew it wouldn’t be easy. Still, I researched him and his fighting style. When I got in the ring, I didn’t overthink it—I just wanted to let out my emotions through my punches. When the referee raised my hand, I realized I had been doubting myself the whole time. After the match, I stopped questioning myself. I watched my next opponent’s videos. He was older and had joined the national training center, so I knew he’d be tough. But thinking about my family gave me the confidence to keep going.

 

After the first round, all the judges gave me a 5:0 score, and I couldn’t believe it. But it also made me feel like he wasn’t unbeatable. In the second round, my energy dropped, and I couldn’t react as fast, so it ended in a draw. The third round was the key. I was more aggressive and threw more punches, but the result was still unsatisfactory.

 

I want to thank all the coaches, teachers, competitors, and referees. Even though I didn’t get the result I wanted, I feel much better, and the pressure is lifted. I will keep working hard. Thank you, everyone!”

陳畇崴在全國拳擊錦標賽中獲得季軍 

 

VIS高中11年級學生陳畇崴在113年全國總統盃拳擊錦標賽高中男子組63.5公斤級榮獲第三名！

 

以下是陳畇崴的比賽心得：

 

「我在全國拳擊錦標賽中獲得了第三名。說實話，比賽前我並沒有期待能取得好成績，也沒有任何期望。我的目標只是享受比賽並釋放一些壓力。比賽前，我為了符合體重級別不得不減了3公斤，加上學業繁忙，我無法好好休息。只有到了比賽場地，我才能專注於與隊友的訓練，暫時拋開學業。

 

在第一場比賽中，我贏了，因為我的對手流鼻血了。我當時很高興，但隨後發現我的下一個對手是個年長的學長，我知道這不會容易。儘管如此，我還是研究了他的拳擊風格。當我走上擂台時，我沒有過度思考——我只是想通過拳擊發洩情緒。當裁判舉起我的手時，我意識到我一直在懷疑自己。比賽結束後，我停止了自我質疑。我觀看了下一個對手的視頻。他年紀更大，已經加入了國家訓練中心，我知道他會很強。但是想到我的家人給了我繼續前進的信心。

 

第一輪比賽後，所有裁判都給了我5:0的評分，我簡直不敢相信。但這也讓我覺得他並非無敵。在第二輪中，我的能量下降，反應不夠快，因此比賽以平局結束。第三輪是關鍵。我更加積極，出拳更多，但結果仍然不理想。

 

我要感謝所有教練、老師、競爭對手和裁判。雖然我沒有得到我想要的結果，但我感覺好多了，壓力也減輕了。我會繼續努力。謝謝大家！」
