昨日下午，VIS 國中部師生前往 Broadway Cinema，共同欣賞紀錄片《沉睡的水下巨人 Shipwrecks Taiwan》。本次觀影由 G7 學生 Willian 的家長促成，旨在讓學生深入認識臺灣海洋生態的現況與危機，進一步喚起對環境保育議題的關注與思辨。

《沉睡的水下巨人》由金鐘獎導演李景白耗時四年傾力打造，以 8K 超高畫質潛入臺灣海域 50 公尺深的神祕水域，首度完整記錄沈船遺跡之壯麗與哀愁。在這些寂靜沉沒的鋼鐵巨物之間，攝影機捕捉到的是繽紛卻脆弱的海底生態，包括魚群穿梭、珊瑚安居等奇景，也映照出臺灣物種消逝與過度捕撈的警訊。這不僅是一部自然生態紀錄片，更是一封寫給未來的信，沉靜卻深刻地喚醒人們對大海的敬畏與守護之心。

觀影結束後，導演親自與國中部學生進行問答交流，細緻解答同學們對拍攝過程與環境議題的好奇與提問，現場互動熱烈。VIS 特別贈予導演與 Willian 的家長《Discover Taipei》書籍及感謝狀，以表彰他們推動教育與永續精神的貢獻。

Yesterday afternoon, VIS Junior High students and teachers visited Broadway Cinema for a special screening of the documentary Shipwrecks Taiwan. This eye-opening experience was made possible through the generous support of G7 student Willian's parents, with the aim of deepening students' awareness of Taiwan’s marine ecosystems and the urgent environmental challenges we face. 

Directed by Golden Bell Award-winning filmmaker Tim Lee, Shipwrecks Taiwan is the result of four years of dedication and underwater exploration. Filmed in stunning 8K resolution, the documentary takes viewers 50 meters beneath Taiwan’s coastal waters to reveal hauntingly beautiful shipwrecks and the fragile marine life that now inhabits them. Amidst these silent steel giants, we witness vibrant coral reefs, darting fish, and hidden underwater habitats, each a poignant reminder of the threats posed by overfishing and species loss. More than a nature documentary, Shipwrecks Taiwan is a moving letter to the future, quietly urging us to respect and protect our oceans. 

After the screening, Director Lee engaged in a thoughtful Q&A with our students, answering questions about the filming process and environmental issues with insight and warmth. The discussion was lively and inspiring. As a token of our gratitude, VIS presented the director and Willian’s parent with a copy of Discover Taipei and a certificate of appreciation, in recognition of their contribution to education and sustainability.
