Class at Junior High
Design thinking on UBI Campus project.

The concept of UBI(universal basic income) has been discussed by governments of various countries under the pandemic. At present, more and more jobs are gradually being replaced by robots. It may be more and more difficult to find a "normal work" job position. People may work remotely and just take very limited responsibility for a project. This trend has accelerated our thinking that “should we be forced to work in order to survive? Or can we work for our mission with a guarantee of a basic income from our social warfare system?”

In this class, we have a design thinking process. We use our digital bank (VIS UBI-campus crypto-currency App) to issue daily basic income ($1000 fire coins per day). Our students proposed many creative ways to use this basic income to trade with each other. They even established their school startup prototype to operate their small business, so that they can try to reach a sustainable cash flow. Students are grouped to compete with each other, and finally they write down their business plans and search for opportunities to pitch.
