Marketing, advertising, social media, and content creation are full of exciting-sounding jobs that offer opportunities for creativity, technological innovation, fun user experiences, business negotiation, and more - but the study path to these jobs is not always clear. This session will introduce the many different kinds of marketing companies and the jobs available at each. Then, we’ll take a look at the college majors that can point students toward their area of interest. With a career that began with a decade in advertising and marketing spent at large agencies like Publicis as well as adtech startups, VIS College Counselor John Murn will share from personal experience and knowledge from working with clients like McDonald's, Samsung, and Catchplay.
