In Mr. Joshua McLean’s Makers’ Space class at VIS, students are diving deep into the world of coding and engineering. They are currently working on an exciting project: building an 8x8 LED matrix using electronics and circuits to display dynamic images. This hands-on experience allows students to apply their programming skills to create visual displays, enhancing their understanding of both hardware and software integration.

Through this project, students learn about circuit design, soldering, and programming in languages such as Python and Arduino. They collaborate in teams to troubleshoot challenges, fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills. The Makers’ Space provides a creative environment where students can experiment, innovate, and bring their ideas to life.
