Class at Junior High
STEM Education

This week, in our science class, we conducted a small experiment to allow students to experience photosynthesis firsthand. We prepared light bulbs of different brightness levels - high, medium, and low - and let each group cut a small piece of elodea, an aquatic plant that produces oxygen when it undergoes photosynthesis in the presence of sunlight.

When we put it in water, we could see bubbles coming out of the water surface one after another. Then, we placed it under light bulbs of different intensities, not only witnessing the oxygen produced through photosynthesis, but also observing and recording that stronger sunlight creates stronger photosynthesis. Through this experiment, students gained a better understanding of this scientific concept.
